Conscious Uncoupling

What is Conscious Uncoupling?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock this week, you likely have heard that Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Coldplay front-man Chris Martin, have decided to split in a fashion that they are calling, “Conscious Uncoupling.”  On Tuesday, goop, Ms. Paltrow’s weekly publication/blog/website announced the split to goop’s subscribers.   Since the announcement, the internet has gone a bit wild mocking and supporting the couple’s chosen terminology (which was actually coined by Dr. Katherine Woodward Thomas and her 5-week program).  Regardless of what you think of this week’s hottest divorce euphemism, we would like to share with our readers and clients the comment posted by Dr. Habib Sadeghi and Dr. Sherry Sami below the Paltrow/Martin split announcement.  Whether you embrace its message or not, the post presents a different way of viewing the fraught divorce process–one that could be useful to those of you going through the difficult phase of divorce and figuring out how to co-parent effectively.

If you’re thinking about getting divorced and  would like to know your options, please call Attorney Alexis Miloszewski and Attorney Jessica Smith at (717) 883-5671 to schedule a consultation.  Alternatively, email us at FamilyLaw@jsdc.com.
